Our Vision
At Seeker Solutions, we are dedicated to helping you find the information you want. While search engines are useful for directed research, they are one-off endeavours. They don’t apply past search information to the current search and they don’t get any smarter. Instead, they depend on the searcher knowing exactly what they want at the outset. And, even more than that, current search engines make the searcher work within the confines of the search engine’s parameters, meaning a good searcher must play with and manipulate the search engine’s rules to find their desired information. This puts all the work of searching on the shoulders of the searcher. And, once the searcher has found the information they want out of their first search, they have to redo the whole process again with their next search, starting from scratch as far as the search engine is concerned. Seeker Solutions has found a better, more comprehensive way to search.
Right now, you have to think up a search term, sift through the results and then come up with a more clear and complex search term to get you closer to your desired information. Rinse, repeat. But, Seeker Solutions offers you an easier more intuitive way. We call it contextualized searching. By giving searching a way to learn from past searches and understand connections between different but similar information, we’ve been able to improve the process of searching, allowing the searcher to find what they want when they want it without having to trick a system or ream through information they don’t need. Our Story
We are a young software company, founded by our fearless leader, Duncan MacRae. Duncan has a background in business and has always felt that the goal of technology should be to make life easier. He believes that efficiency should be the goal of technological systems so that people can stop wasting their time, energy and brainpower on figuring out how to accomplish a goal and instead focus on achieving that goal. By looking at ways to maximize efficiency where people and technology meet, he hit upon the problems and opportunities of searching through digital data.
Search engines were one area that Duncan suspected could be re-envisioned in order to increase the efficiency of this increasingly important point of technology-human interaction – the process of searching. So, founding Seeker Solutions in January, 2006, he started to build a team that could create a better way to search than search engines currently offer. While the web was busy pushing out new ways to socialize and categorize online content, we at Seeker Solutions were looking at ways to personalize and contextualize that content.
By applying our unique algorithms, Seeker Solutions has found a way to provide just that: personal content that learns with the user, which allows the individual to maximize their enjoyment and efficiency, cutting through the search process rigmarole and straight at the content they want. Through Seeker Solutions first offering – Sprout – users can easily access wide-ranging content (in the form of news articles and blog postings) that are suited to their interests without worrying about searching at all.
